External coaches usually offer coachees a greater assurance of confidentiality and objectivity than internal coaches, whilst bringing the expertise of what is for them a dedicated profession.
Matching coaches with coachees following training has been found to improve the effectiveness of learning by as much as 88% , compared with just 22% resulting from training alone (Zeus, P and Skiffington, S, 2003). However, the benefits of offering 1:1 coaches for your executives or employees extend well beyond personal development.
